Lumber Inn: A Culinary Gem for Breakfast and Brunch in Delafield

Phenomenal Service & Food! Our waitress Katherine was an absolute delight.She helped us with some great menu item choices and provided some of the most genuine service. The Brisket Hash was spectacular and my wife fell in love with the liver and onions. We are from Maryland and she said she’d take the 12 hour drive just to have that meal again. If you’re in the area for whatever reason , I highly recommend this place for a meal! Don’t let the busy crowd fool you, they are just as efficient as a slow day!

We had the special of the day for breakfast. It was fabulous. Very special. Not just the same old breakfast. They make it unique with their own signature touches. You won't find the same options anywhere else. We also had a 7 year old child with us. She recieved extra attention and her food was made extra special. Big smiles when her food arrived. I really enjoyed my experience. Thanks so much.

I love this place, I do not come here nearly enough, and I wish I would have gotten the name of my server so I could give him a proper shout out. I had the Sunrise Wrap and it was amazing. If you’re here for breakfast do not pass up on the American Fries. I don’t know how they get those potatoes so crispy and flavorful without being oily and salty but they are amazing. It got very busy very quickly but I think the regulars know not to linger so the staff can turn tables and get the next round of diners seated quickly. I have only ever been here do breakfast, need to come back for a later meal, peeping at the lunch and dinner menu this morning looks like there’s some great options available.

If you’re looking for a place that gets everything right—quality, quantity, taste, and overall experience—Lumber Inn is a standout. We ordered the Brandy Apple Stuffed French Toast and the Short Rib Hash, and both dishes were amazing. The flavors were layered, creative, and incredibly satisfying. Kept me going back for more! The service was also fantastic — friendly with just a hint of playful, light-hearted sarcasm that made the whole experience feel fun and welcoming. It added personality without ever feeling unprofessional. If you’re thinking about trying this place, go for it. You won’t be disappointed. Easily a 5-star experience all around!

Have heard good things in the past about this place. There were 3 of us. Got there about 10:30 on a Friday. It wasn't lunch time yet so they weren't too busy. Got seated right away, and our server got us settled in with water, then our beverages. Server was friendly and attentive. It has a pretty extensive menu. Plenty of breakfast items, burgers, wraps salads and dinner choices. We ordered some breakfast, along with a salad and sandwich. It was done in a reasonable time and everyone seemed to be happy with the food. One of the items was missing fries, and by the time the server came back, it was a little too late. The server didn't seem to be bothered by this mistake, didn't apologize, and never offered to take it off the bill. Not a huge $ amount, but it's the idea of expected customer service. For most of the meal, there was a table with a couple of younger kids. I like kids, but during most of the meal, they were watching videos on their phones, with the sound up. Pretty distracting (was I the only one bothered?) So our experience was mixed. The menu is large, and lots of variety. The atmosphere was noisy/distracting, and the customer service was spotty. There are plenty of other similar restaurant choices.

A breakfast place for folks who aren't necessarily breakfast people! I was surprised by this place that they had a really good take on Mexican Breakfast. They do have some of the 'regular' breakfast food, but a lot of their food has a really nice Mexican flair. Chorizo potatoes and Mexican Skillet were phenomenal. It was very busy so I wasn't the only one who liked it. Staff was very courteous and kept my coffee full and warmed up. Highly recommend!

I go here for breakfast about once a month. Their food is always excellent and served quickly. Also, they have a lot of very friendly employees. Highly recommend this place!
